How to Point GoDaddy Domain to DigitalOcean Droplet
First, log in to the DigitalOcean account and go to the DigitalOcean Networking tab or with this “https://cloud.digitalocean.com/networking/domains” to add your GoDaddy domain to the DigitalOcean by entering your domain into the field and clicking Add Domain button.
We are done with the DigitalOcean (but you still need to config the domain as you need later).

Now we need to deal with the GoDaddy side.
Log in to your GoDaddy account and go to GoDaddy Domain Control Center.
Then, select your GoDaddy domain that you need to point to DigitalOcean droplet, and select Manage DNS under Additional Settings.
Go to the Nameservers section like the following image and click Change.
Second, log in to your domain provider account (we’re using Namecheap as an example) and click the domain that you need to point to DigitalOcean droplet.
Then, you need to find the Nameservers setting (or DNS setting) for that domain. They look different, depending on your domain provider.

Edit the current nameservers by replacing them with the following 3 nameservers (1 nameserver per line):
- ns1.digitalocean.com
- ns2.digitalocean.com
- ns3.digitalocean.com
Then, click Save.
Now you need to wait until the nameserver is updated (DNS propagation). It can take up to 72 hours to propagate worldwide, although it normally takes a few hours.

- Add domain to the DigitalOcean account.
Go to DigitalOcean Networking to add your GoDaddy domain that you need to point to your DigitalOcean droplet.
- Configuration the domain’s nameserver.
Log in to your GoDaddy account and go to GoDaddy Domain Control Center. Select the domain that you want to point to the DigitalOcean droplet and click DNS setting. Then, go to Nameservers section and replace the current nameservers with these 3 (1 nameserver per line): ns1.digitalocean.com, ns2.digitalocean.com, ns3.digitalocean.com and click save.
- Wait for DNS propagation.
The DNS propagation can take up to 72 hours, although it normally takes 1-3 hours.
